4 août 1789 – abolition des privilèges

 

Ce mois-ci nous avons une date historique qui a changé
« l’esclavage » en France ou plus précisément l’exploitation des serfs par les seigneurs. Un serf par définition est une personne, assujettie à un seigneur, qui n’est pas libre et qui se vend avec la terre à laquelle il appartient.

This month we have a historical date that has changed
“slavery” in France or more precisely the exploitation of the serfs by the lords. A serf by definition is a person, subjected to a lord, who is not free and who is sold with the land to which he belongs.

Après la prise de la bastille à Paris le 14 juillet 1789, de nombreuses émeutes et protestations s’élèvent dans les campagnes. Pour calmer la population, l’Assemblée nationale vote l’abolition des privilèges féodaux ainsi que les privilèges des classes, des provinces et des villes dans la nuit du 4 août 1789. Cependant, tout le monde n’est pas en accord et c’est seulement 4 ans plus tard, le 17 juillet 1793 qu’un décret abolira tous les privilèges féodaux sans contrepartie ni indemnités.

After the storming of the Bastille in Paris on July 14, 1789, numerous riots and protests broke out in the countryside. To calm the population, the National Assembly voted the abolition of feudal privileges as well as the privileges of the classes, provinces and cities in the night of August 4, 1789. However, not everyone was in agreement and it was only 4 years later, on July 17, 1793, that a decree abolished all feudal privileges without compensation.

Moulin Rouge

The Pantages presents since the beginning of July and until September 4, 2022, a show in the spirit of the famous Moulin Rouge of Paris. The rhythm is dynamic, the colors, the music and the choreography will keep you on your toes throughout. The action takes place in 1899 inside the Moulin Rouge and in various places in Paris.
